CeramountTM Model CM-1 is the first all-ceramic mirror mount for optical applications requiring exceptional stability. CeramountTM Model CM-1 is a kinematic mount for 2" or 1" (with adapter) diameter mirrors, net-shape-casted from 99.5% SiO2 ceramic. Fused silica has a much lower coefficient of thermal expansion than aluminum--0.4 ppm per C° versus 22.0 for aluminum. With this benefit, stability, thus frequency control can be increased by more than an order of magnitude.

Conventional adjustment screws, micrometers or Invar adjustment screws are available for the ultimate in stability. The mounts are coated with a clear or black glaze to seal and protect the surface. Since ceramic is fragile, overtorquing can lead to damage. To prevent overtorquing, the CM-1 mount is provided with our unique clamping system consisting of Bevel washers and shoulder screws.
